This week I got the most incredible email. To say I had been nominated for @wearecity.bsky.social “Rising Star Award” 2025.

I am not going to lie imposter syndrome crept in and I asked “why me?” But I am so delighted and genuinely feeling proud.

I would argue all need social interaction and less passive screen time!

But I think that it needs to be recognised that an iPad is much more than just a “screen”. The problem is that a device is being using as a pacifier, rather than a creative tool.

This article doesn’t really stipulate what sort of screen time is having a detrimental impact to children’s development. Yes, endless scrolling, passively consuming content and playing certain games is not what we want 24/7. But using a device for creative purposes changes the narrative completely
