Spotting a nice building to climb, she glanced around before ducking into an alley, and scaling the side of the building with ease. Once she was on the roof, she sent another text.

📲 “We should shoot some hoops together sometime. Been a minute since I’ve done a 1 on 1.”

📲 “Wait is this stuff addictive?”

There was a pause in her texts, followed by another, more well informed text.

📲 “Okay, I looked it up. Online it says it isn’t. Phew!”

May had some time to kill, so she looked around for a nearby tall building to hang out on top of.

Another text came in a few minutes later.

📲 “I seriously hope he gets the lingo.”

It was a selfie of May with a reusable shopping bag.

📲 “I got the stuff! 🤪”

May looked at her cell phone’s screen, bewildered by all of the lingo she was completely unfamiliar with. She blinked a few times, reading the messages again.

📲 “Okay I have no idea what any of that means, so I’m just gonna repeat what you said and hope for the best.”

📲 “Maybe we could smoke together? I’ve never tried it before but I’d REALLY want you to be there for it when I do. Pretty please skip that teachers event? 🥺”

No way she’d turn down something like this. It was another chance to bond over a potential shared interest, May knew it.

📲 “Okay okay, chill. I did have something I’ve been meaning to try out, maybe you could help with it?”

There was a brief pause in the texts before she sent another.

📲 “I snagged this big bag of buds off of some crook the other day and I don’t know what to do with it.”

📲 “You free tonight? Pizza & drinks? I’m buying. Just us I promise.”

May checked her phone, knowing full well that her text had interrupted April’s class. She burst out laughing at her response, nearly dropping her phone. Good to know she understood the acronym.

📲 “Lmao. Make me. 🤪”

Another text followed.

📲 “Actually don’t I just painted my nails.”

It was time to annoy a certain someone again.

She sent a text to @aranehenna.bsky.social , grinning as she did so.

📲 “SDIYBT. 🤖”

As she sent the text, she tried her best to hold in her laughter, eagerly waiting for her response.

She muttered to herself, while perched atop one of NYC’s many tall buildings.

“How would you even ask someone that?”

She shuddered a little, picturing what it would look like.

May snaps her fingers, nodding a little bit.

“Okay, that makes a lot of sense. But people are more hot headed in the summer, being hot gets people riled up.”

She explained, before switching gears in the conversation once more.

“Hey are you free tonight? You could totally join me at that party.”

“Well really the phrase is ‘cream OF the crop’, which comes from the observation of cream, the best part, rising to the top of milk.”

She tapped her foot a little bit.

“So really there is no innuendo at all, but it’s more funny to think of some dude going to town over some plants.”

“Wha- It’s a hypothetical scenario! I doubt anyone has ever really done it. Plus there’s probably like nutrients in there somewhere. Maybe the plants like it.”

“Well I was going to go to a party tonight so I figured I should get some patrolling in before then. Summer is the biggest time of year for petty crime you know.”

She placed her hands on her own hips.

“But coming into the city to clear your head? Aren’t everyone’s thoughts kind of loud?”

“What’s not funny about jizzing on plants? It’s incredibly funny.”

She was smiling under her mask just thinking about it.

“The last time there were crops in NYC was 1982, and it was wheat. So no, I don’t.”

She paused.

“It kinda funny to think about though.”

“Country boys make do.”

“Normally I don’t exactly share my name, but you could just read my mind to get it anyway. I’m May.”

She gestured to her mask, smiling warmly.

“This is just so you can hear me better. That is such a cool power! Sorry, fangirling big time right now. What brings you to my neck of the woods?”

“So cool! And we haven’t, but I know all about you. Or at least what has been shared online about you.”

May explained, before rolling up her mask to her nose.

“Okay okay, what am I picturing right now?”

She thought really hard, creating a mental image. Only Jean could know what it is.

“No way, an X-Men!”

May said to herself as she spotted the familiar ginger head of hair of none other than @psionicphoenix.bsky.social ! She swung on down from the rooftop, landing just behind her.

“Hello Jean! I’m a huge fan of your work.”

She was probably reading her mind already, so cool!

“So it’s a suck, fuck, and duck plan? Got it.”

She presented the banana.

“How’s this?”

She flashed a sheepish smile at April, a light blush forming on her cheeks at the A03 comment. April read her diary cover to cover, she knew practically everything about her.

As she was about to put the condom on the banana (with the tip of it facing the wrong way), her eyes drifted back (c)

“You’re right, I’m sorry. We need to do more girls nights like we used to.”

May apologized, before happily taking the condom and opening the wrapper with her teeth. She plucked the condom from the wrapper, holding it between her two fingers.

“I don’t know why I thought this wouldn’t be wet.”
