of our choosing. During your data-collection, did you encounter any other interesting datasources that could be used for that? I'm thinking about stuff like ISS telemetry dumps etc. I've been looking around, but can't seem to find much. Would be interesting to do e.g. anomaly detection on it.

By the way, I read your blogpost about how this came to life, very interesting! I wasn't even aware of certain datasources, e.g. those regular ISS audio syncs to archive.org. I'm currently studying again to get an additional degree in AI, and we often need to do assignments based on datasets (1/2)

Trust me, I've written code in my life where I got back to it later and was thinking "was I drunk while writing this?" and I don't even drink alcohol :-)

As a fellow computer scientist I have to ask: is this initiative opensource, i.e. the website code, your data pipelines etc.?

At least they have their priorities straight in the US.

Anyways, if we're going down this road, then I vote for renaming NASA to starfleet and the US to the United Federation of planets.

Especially taking into account they have terraform too now, probably going to integrate those more plus add some AI-bs on top I guess, because why not right? Who knows where that leaves Ansible. DIY Bash it is then.

I'm actually wondering what is @jeffgeerling.com 's opinion is of this topic.

Exactly why I explicitly chose not to use ansible and go all in on a collection of bash scripts. Is it as convenient as ansible? No. But the freedom and independence? Priceless.

Got the impression the fans have lost interest too. There were these social media campaigns a couple of years back, but in more recent years nothing anymore.

Hey I'm not judging, I'm completely a-political myself: left, right or center, all politicians are idiots in my opinion πŸ˜… Still waiting for the first head of government anywhere in the world with a background in astronomy πŸ™‚ Maybe you should go for it Dylan? πŸ˜ƒ

So, now we know what side of the political spectrum you're on πŸ˜… I read this morning that the right was popular, until people saw Trump in action, then the Australian appetite for the right was over. At least that's what they're saying in Europe πŸ™‚

So how exactly does this map to the ongoing European commercial cargo return option currently being investigated with European private companies? Is this something in parallel with the same use-case, just a proof-of-concept, ...? Will one replace the other or supplement or ...?

Starlab A joint venture between Voyager, Airbus and partners is designing, building, and will operate the future space station Starlab.

In my mind, I've already moved past the ISS towards this: www.airbus.com/en/products-...
At least this is something without Russians and where the US is a minority stakeholder, and not even the US Government. I see this more as a European successor. So long US, good riddens.
