Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy in the Elderly Patient-A Study of Functional, Surgical, and Oncological Outcomes in an Australian Cohort - PubMed RARP in carefully selected elderly patients does not increase risk of urinary incontinence and should not be disregarded in an aging population with higher overall life expectancy.

Robotic assisted radical prostatectomy in the elderly patient?
Some would claim this to be inappropriate purely on basis of numerical age.
I’d argue performance status/co-morbidity/frailty/life expectancy probably matter more.

After 40 years, Spinal Tap have returned. Can they turn it back up to 11? The bad boys of rock from the pioneering 1980s mockumentary now look like grandfathers, and they still need a drummer.

Definitely want to see this.

‘Thinks he’s Teflon’: Al Muderis goes to war with peak body, colleagues Unethical surgeon Dr Munjed Al Muderis is suing the Australian Orthopaedic Association, as leaked board minutes reveal concerns were raised about him threatening surgeons into silence.

As I said in my last post, there always seems to be more with Al Muderis & none of it is positive.
Commonly held opinion amongst surgeons is that he has a low threshold to litigate in response to anything he perceives to be criticism.

Is Nine’s defamation win over Munjed Al Muderis a game changer? One of Australia's longest defamation trials has concluded with a landmark result for free speech and public interest journalism.

Great explanation of ‘contextual truth’ and ‘public interest’ defence.
The $19m legal bill is staggering.

Rightsizing the reputations of shonks, shysters and war criminals comes at a cost This latest win is truly a landmark victory for the media, but if history is a guide lawyers will still line up to indulge wealthy clients trying to save tattered reputations.

Unfortunate that this behaviour still exists and sorry if your own experience hasn’t been ideal.
This type of behaviour is not acceptable and should be stamped out.
That all said, I’m confident that things have changed and that this represents outlier rather than typical surgical behaviour.

It disturbing to learn that there hasn’t been a zero tolerance to inappropriate behaviour despite the claims of hospital management.

‘Not manageable’: Patients waiting up to a year for cancer diagnoses at Sydney hospital A woman diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer after 363 days is among dozens of cases which have led doctors at one of Sydney’s biggest hospitals to sound the alarm.

A root cause of these delayed cancer diagnoses is the underfunding of resources for western Sydney hospitals.
Under resourced facilities are not the first choice of a place to work and no wonder there are critical staff shortages.
