I continue to be fascinated by the phenomenon whereby an expert engages with any of the LLMs on their field of expertise and is instantly horrified by the wrong answers, and then goes on to use it for things they are not experts in as though it won’t be just as bad for those.

I’m finding it difficult to care about the wording of an email or the content of a libguide while I’m continuously horrified at what is taking place

I can’t stop thinking about it

Nurul Amin Shah Alam crossed oceans to flee unimaginable violence, only to die here — where he should have been safe.

The cruelty is endless.

The IMLS Propaganda Machine Is In Full Swing The agency overseeing U.S. libraries and museums is now full-on regime propaganda.

Actual story of the propaganda trucks, which stole $14 million of your dollars and funneled it away from national libraries and museums and into the pockets of PragerU.

Yes, PragerU made this thing, not any professional librarians or museum folks.

Oldest known whale song recordings discovered in Cape Cod archives The files, found on a bygone piece of audio recording equipment, may give scientists new evidence about how humans have changed the ocean.

The discovery trope, but this time the archivist is discovering. 📜

Third American death linked to ice uncovered by Newsweek While the 23-year-old's death was reported in March 2025, it was not made clear that a federal agent fired the fatal shot.

“A federal agent fired shots through the driver’s side window”.

Sound familiar?

That’s exactly how Renee Nicole Good was killed.

This 23 year old lost his life and ICE’s involvement was covered up for a year.

They’re killing people and hiding the evidence.

With Latest Rollback, the U.S. Essentially Has No Clean-Car Rules

“The U.S. no longer has emission standards of any meaning,” said Margo T. Oge, who served as the E.P.A.’s top vehicle emissions regulator under three presidents and has since advised both automakers and environmental groups.

“Nothing. Zero,” she added. “Not many countries have zero.”

We just found out our AI has been making up
analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna
throw up.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.

Screw this. If you need me, I’ll be on IRC.

Idk what is going on with Libby but half the time I do not get a notification when a hold is ready for pickup. I find out when I open the app and I have a lapse notice saying my hold is suspended now.

At least I don’t go to the bottom of the list now I guess.

When I read about ‘Ai anxiety’ it reminds me of when people downplayed folks’ covid precautions by calling them ‘covid anxious’
