Eighty-four years ago today, President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which consigned 125,000 Japanese Americans to incarceration in concentration camps throughout the country. We commemorate this Day of Remembrance every year in hopes that this never happens again.

Kayoshi Masuoka and his family were forced from their home in California and incarcerated at Heart Mountain. After the war, he settled in Cleveland and Chardon, OH, became a physician and served his community. We thank his family for thinking of us.
