I think it's part of their cope that the files will bring down the entire republican regime, so we need to hyper focus on them. The thing is, enough of the files have come out that 100% implicate trump and nothing has happened. I don't think the full files will either. There's no one weird trick.

What's insane is how common this mindset is. I'll see nimby's in the upper west side in NYC posting the exact same arguments and meltdowns because an oppressive evil 30 story mega-tower is going up next to their tiny little human-scale 18 story building and it's going to destroy everything.

Media loves to pander to these people. I've seen so many projects and plans where like 90% of the neighbourhood is supportive and the media then labels it a "deeply controversial plan" and interviews 5 people against and 2 for.

It sounds like these people need therapy rather than political solutions. If a 6-plex near you elicits this sort of emotional response, that really doesn't bode well for a person's general ability to cope with minor change in their lives.

I think the general agreed upon metric would be for at least most of the great powers engaging in total wall. Which since the 1950's or so has been assumed to lead to total nuclear war.
