A lot of people think that if you hate modern trek, you probably just think it's too woke or something. Wrong, I think the problem with modern trek is that it isn't woke enough. We saw an actual evolved humanity and society, but modern trek devolves humanity to modern day attitudes and problems.

I wish trek dug more into the worldbuilding of the setting, and in a rational way. Instead we get pretty damn inconsistent depictions of most areas...

I'll fully admit the plots and writing aren't great, but holy shit those movies look amazing. Walking over to the imax and seeing that shit on a screen bigger than an apartment building in 3d is an amazing experience. All other 3d movies look off and give me a headache, but avatar tech just works.

That's always the rub. Free transit sounds good, but it ignores the opportunity costs of that same money simply being used to improve service. And improved service actually drives more users and reduces more car trips thus saving more lives and making the world a better place.

Yeah, and it's so hard to find good modern vehicles in that scale. The other bigger railway scale is 1:87 which actually does line up with some non-train related lines of models. But poor N scale doesn't really have anything close. Not model cars, not model ships, nothing.
