Cookie just told me how hard her life was while I sat in the chair next to her. I’m her feline therapist.

As someone else suggested, it may be a particularly nasty hairball. It’s got hair in it and just looks darker because it’s dried a little? And maybe the poor creature had trouble digesting other things along the way. My cat throws up fur, peanuts and pieces of my clothing. She’s an interesting one.

Those could be insect endoskeletons maybe? But nuts are a possibility. Maybe a fox or coyote. I’d say bear but it looks too small for that.
