The same can also be said for the courses, and I think this redesign is a big reason why we’ve never had a new SSX game since.

SSX (2012). All of them. The series had a great cast of fun characters who each had tons of personality, unique colour palettes and easily identifiable silhouettes. The 2012 game went all in on gritty realism and those same characters looked drab and forgettable.
