I'm absolutely certain we haven't inadvertently killed innocent people unless someone has information to the contrary, in which case ooopps, we certainly don't need that kind of bad press.

Ah yes all those illegal immigrants coming in with their riches from places like Guatemala buying up the houses built by hardworking native born Americans who are the backbone of the construction labor force. Yes, that must be the problem.

That's less than 1 out of 225 SNAP beneficiaries. I'm assuming there is some lag time between a person's death and their removal from SNAP. Let's say it takes four months. That would mean on average a SNAP beneficiary dies after 75 years of benefits. That seems about right to me.

I'm sympathetic to that perspective yet he has achieved unimaginable levels of success (as he would define it). It seems naive and arrogant to write off twice being elected President and building one's self into the world's most lucrative brand as nothing more than dumb luck.

Can we allow for the possibility that he could possibly do something worthy of credit as President?

The two thoughts expressed here are not mutually exclusive. I'm not sure how much credit to give Mr. Trump for the negotiations in the Middle East but if our criticism of him is valid and objective we ought not to automatically seek to discredit any of his apparent accomplishments.

OK, got it. I missed that in the original question.

I mean he's right. It creates other problems is the demand for flights are higher than the capacity to provide them but at least it's honest to say these are the number of flights that our system can currently handle instead of selling tickets for a bunch of flights you know will be delayed.

The are no simulations where an NFC West team gets in as a Wildcard and then goes on to win the Super Bowl?

I'm not a fan of this administration but it may not be a "play" at all. It seems entirely plausible that they simply don't have enough air traffic controllers and they need to reduce the total number of flights to keep the planes in the air safe.

I think aggressively shaming anyone who complained about vandalism and looting associated with BLM protests, found kneeling for the National Anthem disrespectful, or who held views about gender and sexuality consistent with the 2008 Obama campaign might have something to do with it as well.

06.11.2025 16:37 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Then why did the Republicans aggressively campaign specifically on bringing grocery prices down?

06.11.2025 16:19 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

So the traditional views on biological sex and gender that are held by the vast majority of human beings alive today and were held by almost everyone for the vast majority of history are so obviously wrong that we can't even tolerate the idea that anyone we associate with might hold them?

If Republicans aren't careful more tax-paying American citizens will end up with representation in Congress.

Tell me you've never been to a grocery store or a gas station without telling me you've never been to a grocery store or a gas station.

Seems to me there is non-zero chance that all of these redistricting efforts to get more Republican seats could backfire in a major way. Diluting your base's support enough means that a major national shift toward Democrats as a reaction to Trump could flip a bunch of districts.

05.11.2025 02:39 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Not sure what you're basing this on. It depends on the issue and how one defines a "moderate" view but I think there's a lot of data (in addition to personal experience to back up my assertion here, at least in regard to many controversial issues (abortion, gun control, tax policy, etc.).

If by "partisans" you mean they tend to vote for and identify with one political party or the other that's true. That doesn't mean that most people are in lock-step with one extreme or the other on most issues. When you remove partisan labels most folks are fairly moderate on most issues.

01.11.2025 16:06 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Are you disputing my claim that most people don't identify as being part of "the right" or "the left" or do you accept that but believe that fully embracing one end of the political spectrum against the other is still the best way to connect with these people?

I'm sure if more of us had just been meaner to the Nazis they would have changed their ways by now. That's how it works, right?

31.10.2025 13:34 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

Most people don't identify as being part of "the right" or "the left". Choosing not to be beholden to either of these ideological purity cults might actually connect with a lot of folks who just want reasonable people making reasonable decisions.

Truly inspiring that these folks getting paid record setting amounts of money to play baseball with each other are not complaining about playing baseball with each other for for record setting amounts of money. How can you not be inspired?

US to repatriate survivors of strike on 'drug-carrying submarine', Trump says The latest attack is at least the sixth US strike on ships in waters off Venezuela in recent weeks.

If the guys on the boats the administration is blowing up are dangerous terrorists why are we sending them back to their countries when we have them in custody?

If they're not dangerous terrorists why are we blowing them up instead of just arresting them?

Seems more like he's just following orders from the White House and that Trump's strategy is don't give the Democrats anything they want (even if it's just doing your job) until we get what we want.
