My son made this masterpiece at school. A friend made me a Go board and I think I've carved out a little unique niche in regards to my sculpey and miniature painting hobby stuff.

My son bought me a cheap 19x19 board initially and while I'm very thankful it's too much for my brain to comprehend.

Playing against other people who are new also helps a lot I think lol.

Like someone explained chess as a battle but go is two farmers trying to divide a property line. Doesn't make it sounds particularly exciting I'll admit lol but I dig that it can feel very passive and Zen with this little bursts of capturing.

It's so tricky. Like really easy to play but really really hard to be good at.

The 9x9 board helps because the matches are nice and quick and you can focus on the entire space easily.

That said my son kicks my ass consistently but it doesn't bother me because the game doesn't feel aggressive.

My partner almost ate one when she got home!

But yes they're so tactile and fun to fiddle with. Great game for neurospicy folk I think!

Friend of mine is getting into woodwork as a hobby. Commissioned him to make me a little 9x9 Go Board. Got some nice stones too. Having a lot of fun breaking my brain over this game 😊

I used to read a lot of gaming magazines as a kid (didn't actually own any consoles or anything, parents didn't like video games lol) so this feels like it recaptures that energy of experiencing a game only through supplemental materials and playing it in my brain lol.

We had 2 games on the home pc growing up. Heroes 2 and Heroes 3. Played countless hours hotseat with my sister lol.

It's so hard! Like I played a lot of soul calibur 2 and smash bros melee. Like maybe more than anything else on this list. But it didn't feel right bumping any of these off either!?

It's impossible! I just finished Cairn and like..maybe it's recency bias but that shit changes how my brain works.

Yeah. It's funny tho. You think you want the character forever but then you play standard and it sucks so bad you just reroll for the next league anyway lol.

I mean you also do get to keep your character. They just shift into standard league.

Yeah. Epic is annoying but it works. The windows store like actually doesn't work regularly. I only know this because my kid uses Minecraft to catch up with his overseas Grandparents and it is an absolute headache everytime!

It's not nothing but it's also only enough to cover 2 of the more then 2 physio sessions you'll need to get your next right after sleeping "wrong".

So it may as well be nothing I guess!
