WB is the only federal agency tasked with representing the interests of working women. Its elimination would make it more difficult to advocate for expanding family-supporting policies like paid leave and child care. It would cut off women’s access to job training programs in manufacturing and STEM.

Last week, the proposed DOL FY26 budget was released. It would cut a staggering one third of the department’s funding and completely eliminate the Women’s Bureau, which it unjustly criticized as an “ineffective policy office that is a relic of the past.” H/T ‪@alt-dol.altgov.info‬
