The more I think about it the more convinced I am that these people do not like games. They like being asshole bigots and they just use games as their vehicle for that.

Honestly, this is a great demonstration of how to deal with bigots - rejecting their premise outright rather than trying to argue on their terms always, always yields better results.

cringe, as an idea, is a dead end. it’s a means of writing off sincerity and earnestness in pursuit of some ill-defined concept of above-it-all cool. letting it help define online culture was a mistake. if you view everything as cringe, you are living an empty life
