Don't worry, there were plenty of students with parental issues in my old class at my old school. If you need someone to chat to, just ask, I know how to handle these things.

I haven't managed to talk to him yet, so I do not know on that front. I will go see what I can do on that end.

VP is worried, but I've been reassuring him that his husband just needs a bit of time and space for now. I also supplied VP with a reminder of the format for good apologies, so as to give him a better chance of restoring things once he has the chance to apply that knowledge and apologise.

I'm currently doing what I can to help the situation. If you'd like, I can let you know how things go (so long as I'm allowed to, of course).

I think he needs some space and time first. Try again at apologising once he's back. And remember the key steps for all good genuine apologies:

2. Take accountability
3. State how you'll change your behaviour
4. Actually change your behaviour in future
