XDP is Linux's fastest packet processor but only handles incoming traffic. We found a loophole in how the kernel determines packet direction to make it work for outgoing traffic too!

Texas folks! I'lll be in town for Devopsdays Dallas next week, and already have plans with a few people, but would love to know -- who else will be around?
Drop me a line if you'll be there! Looking forward to it :)
had multiple dreams last night that spanned topics including ConfigMaps, fuschia, plan9, BGP and anycast, back to back to back.
so, safe to say touching grass is very much on the agenda this weekend
Absolutely love how sales people call their areas "Territories"; pure Western Expansion/early 19th century American Frontier vibes
"Beyond the mighty Mississippi? that's mine for pillaging"
"Any Patagonia vest b2b saas man found along the Pacific is fair game for my outfit"
Working with Luiz was an absolute pleasure. Looking forward to following his next chapter!

04.07.2025 04:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0one thing i love about systems programming is that when you get low level enough, things are extremely simple, and from there, you can build things beyond anyone's imagination

Howdy @d-philla.bsky.social ! π Such a great talk from wasm/io I just wathced over on YT; quick Q...
I'm imagining sandboxing runtimes in here (go / jvm), what is the ceiling? At first, something alpine:latest - then full go server, then full nodejs serverless or web servers.
no, not crazy at all, I love all of it! honestly, if the details can be worked out, there's a lot of really interesting things possible, not least of which all the things you mentioned :)
24.04.2025 23:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0that's an excellent question! may be a little too soon to tell, but obviously a lot of interesting gains to be made on the approach to orchestrating something like this, that can run across more heterogeneous environments
24.04.2025 23:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just watched your talk. If Boxer is a kind of Docker, and Marcotte is the Linux, what would be the Kubernetes of this?
