Been busy working on commissions but wanted to show folks a quick mock up I did as a warm up! Was thinking about what that platformer could be about and thought the player could be a postman and the entire game is them having to go on this big dangerous journey for a single delivery haha.

A programmer, a sprite artist and a animator I am not, so I'm pretty happy with how things have turned out so far.

Who knows where it could go from here!

The weekend's gamemaker and acesprite tinkering as it stands at the moment... One could argue i have the barest of a 2d platformer prototype made!

It's got movement, gravity, double jumping, coyote time, a camera that follows, collisions, rudimentary animation work and gamepad support!

Though it does look like the next part of the tutorials I've found are prioritising doing sprite management first so I might have to have a sit and think about that and learn spriting

It's taken like 8 hours to get a red box to have fun basic movement tech, variable jumps, double jumps, coyote time, decent camera system, subpixel collision detection and gamepad support.

Will look into seeing if I can get things like wall jumping, crouching, sliding and attacking in there next!

Been feeling that itch to try and make a simple platformer lately, something to try and reignite that spark. Spent the day messing around with game maker following YouTube coding tutorials! I hadn't touched the engine in years (I'm talking 16 years, I'm old!)

It's been hard but fun!

A goofy idea I was thinking of doing was making like a set of fat fur boyband characters and let them be open license for the community to mess around with. Would that be something folks would be interested in?

I'd need to think of archetypes for them haha

Villo Is an absolute menace to my waistline!

It's been Mekki's birthday this week, and they hired me to do a request sketch stream for themselves and their friends! First request was a fat Wolf O'Donnell sunbathing on the beach
