Tonight, a fwllow enby clocked me immediately and was shocked that others don't know I'm nonbinary just by looking at me. I know there is no "enby look" and that we don't owe anyone androgyny, but I still feel validated.💛💜🤍🖤

I need my students to know that I don't take pleasure in marking them off 5 points for not reading the directions/doing the work AND I celebrate when they get everything right.

My new school:
✅️ Handed me a pride-flavored school spirit shirt
✅️ Corrected pronouns immediately
✅️ Knew that "Mistrum" is "Mm."
✅️ Has 3 hours of personal prep time for each of the 3 PD days
... aside from not being able to move into my new room yet, this feels exactly right.

It turns out my master plan of applying for equity positions until August and then turning back to math teaching positions had a fatal flaw: there are no math jobs within 30 miles of me.

Maybe I was intersex and the doctor didn't tell my family they did a poorly-named "normalization" surgery. Maybe I could have breast cancer and not have to prove anything. The truth, of course, is that I'm lucky. I didn't need to be mutilated or have a cancer scare to have affirming top surgery.

An intersex facilitator and advocate said "I'm not more valid [than trans people], I'm just more certain", and I keep thinking about it. In searching for my own gender, I wished for a reason. I didn't have the feeling since 5 like others, I just had a very strong sense of self developing at 30.

The problem is that "joint pain and overall dryness" happens everywhere 😭
Can I return that and just get a bad knee?
