This month is going to be one of the most difficult and emotionally draining of my life.
But as I am fairly resilient I can recognise that as one door is closing others are opening for me.

For others who are not so resilient there is much fear, frustration and anger. I am devastated for them.

In the UK there’s been just 4 since 1996.

I cannot understand the mentality that prioritises a desire for guns above the safety of humans.

I don’t live in fear because I don’t have a gun. I feel safer because people don’t have easy access to them.

I have contact with one refugee. He is utterly traumatised & feels such shame. He lives in fear of bigots. He is a lovely young man of a similar age to my son. Misses his mother and siblings. He is simply trying to survive. My heart aches.

I’m in the UK. I can NOT understand the US. We had a mass school shooting in 1996. We changed the gun laws. Since then we’ve had just 3 more mass shootings. So, 4 mass shootings in 30 years. Yet the US accepts them daily! 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got devastating news on Thursday. I’m broken hearted. I’m not sure what the future holds. I’m also having to rehome my dogs. So sleep is elusive. Thankfully I spent time with son, daughter & grandson yesterday. It’s my birthday now. I’m escaping to the Highlands later, to be looked after.

I don’t know if anyone had ever warned me but it felt like no-one had. Our relationship was somewhat challenged and I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. It’s been 10 years. And sometimes, like right now, I need my mum. Or what a mum is supposed to be. I don’t we’re ever prepared to be without her

Oh that must have been an awful thing for your sister. My son fell down the stairs & I was a wreck. Thankfully no injury but my mum had to take him out the house so he didn’t hear me wailing. She plied me with sherry for the shock. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery for your nephew. Hugs to sis x

It’s the last night before one of my dogs goes to a new retirement home. Still awaiting a suitable home for the other. Heartbreaking decision to do the best thing for them. Sadly couldn’t find a new home for them together. Feeling a bit of a failure all round 😢

Yes. The world would actually be far better if it was run by the people I support. They live with such stigma and misunderstanding that they are actually the kindest people I know. They know what matters.
