i agree with that. what i intended with my quote post (and what clearly didn’t come through) was to place the “intellectual dishonesty” or however she said it, on the liberal power structures, rather than say, bsky users rightfully questioning the soundness of her strategy. i don’t agree with chen.

if the anti-abortion politician wants to support universal healthcare, that’s great. but it also includes free abortions with no limits, so he’ll (i’m assuming) will have to suck it up and go along with the program.

what i’m suggesting is that the big tent should focus less on internal states of its members and more on the material expression of its policies—universal programs like ubi, free rent, education, etc. in those areas there’s no room for racist structures. but will the racist benefit from them? sure.

not sure quite how to word this clearly, but i'm not a 'let everybody into the revolution no matter what' kind of guy, but i am a 'make the revolution so enticing your enemies hurry to sluff off their dogshit ideologies to join you' kind of guy

one can imagine a simple example: you, a racist anti-labor worker, want a better wage. there's a coalition advocating for that wage, just so happens to be a union organizing drive. you can't advocate for your racist views here, but you can come along with the union.

anyway, that's the exercise.

they already are every day. people are more or less racist, more or less pro-labor. what i'm advocating for is accountability for those views in coalition. not that those views have a place to be expressed politically.
