as a kansan with trans family and comrades, what we need most is for famous california politicians to stand up for trans people’s rights and set an actual example fighting on our behalf, not setting up travel schemes to just avoid the issue of our state being a fascism laboratory.

as only the 50th largest city in the country, we don't really rate a proper granolamonger, sad to say. but we do have some of the best asian grocers for a town that will definitely never rate an hmart

i think the general rule is that if you want anything other than "generic food stuffs", better to go to those grocers that cater to literally any other culture besides "white american"

the kroger stores here are somewhat varied in their selections, more hispanic areas of town seem to have the widest range of meat cuts (and also, confusingly, a total lack of vegetarian meat subs including the humble tofu brick, alas)
