The future being pushed by both AI boosters and educational censors is one where access to information is tightly controlled. Once you start thinking of AI as a war on humanity, on human thought, on human inquiry, on human labor, on nuance and critical thinking, it slots in pretty seamlessly with the right wing ideological project, oligarchical political projects, big tech's political projects, etc

I'm a huge proponent of found family over blood family. The people in your life should have to earn their place there and demonstrate they deserve to stay there.

It's a tough situation. Best you can do (if you want to maintain a relationship) is to distance yourself, protect your mental health and be careful when and how you engage. Maybe at some future point looking into cult deprogramming techniques, but it won't be the time now while they're "winning."
