I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Shireen. Before the war Shireen was the gym manager a body builder and coach at The Arab Orthodox Cultural and Social Center, before that she was an attorney. Now she has lost her gym and home and is struggling to alive with her family.

'It's not your country:' Stories from men who were taken in the LA immigration raids CalMatters spoke with a number of migrants about their arrests and detentions after the first weekend of LA raids. Their accounts raise potential legal questions about the government’s operation.

The masked agents pull up quickly. They jump out of unmarked vans. They wear blue jeans or battle fatigues. They approach Latinos, yelling and carrying assault rifles. If someone runs, they’re taken. If they don’t answer a question, they’re taken. If they can’t produce papers, they’re taken.

I’m still alive. Barely. Figured I’d let whoever actually sees this know since I’m never on here anymore.

The social sanctions for being an ICE employee should be massive and devastating enough that people are very reluctant to take the job, like we should treat it on the same order as being a member of a violent neo-Nazi extremist militia

If Trump cared about what was legal, that erases about 80% of the action he's taken in his life, including leading an insurrection that breached the Capitol & stomping his boots all over what's constiutional in almost everything he's done this term. He can't be appealed to by telling him the law.

kinda wild how we are in an era of advanced medicine and many highly infectious diseases are preventable, but eugenicists are too worried that vaccines may give their children autism. so here we are, in 2025, with measles outbreaks.

THEY. DO. NOT. CARE. The fascists do not care about your "well-reasoned" and "legitimate" legal questions.

Never been more important to organize your community & neighbors & prevent folks from ending up in state custody

Bone chilling.

A court ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to stay in the United States.

The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that he was illegally removed. Trump is pretending he won the ruling 9-0.

1/ You may not think this case means anything to you. But let me tell you why it does.

At this point if folks in civ clothes claiming to be ICE or police approach you, you might as well defend yourself. What’s the worst that could happen to you? You disappear into gulag never to be seen again? They’re going to do that to you anyway.

Sure seems like dem presidents had a lot more power than they said they did, and mostly used what they did of that power by spending 25 years building the carceral infrastructure needed for fascism

7/ You may not think this case matters to you. But Abrego Garcia was legally in the U.S., just like all the rest of us. His status as an immigrant doesn't matter as a matter of law.

If Trump can lock up or remove ANYONE - no matter what the courts say - we are all at grave risk.

more speech is the solution to disagreement, rather than less, and that empathy and understanding
through communication are a way to resolve conflicts peacefully.

–said "we are against antisemitism because antisemitism is a form of injustice, and injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"

Why this is in a Louisiana judges jurisdiction at all is just a small piece of this shit show, but it really has been knocking around in my brain. They will just send anyone they want to get rid of to a state where the judicial branch will back them up - it doesn't matter where they abduct us from.
