The silence pressed in.

God, he missed his kids.
A slow drag. Bitter smoke.
Then he gave a dry snort, almost a laugh.

“Yeah. Another beer sounds good.”

He flicked ash into the void and reached into the almost empty box beside him…

“You’ve got my employer’s attention now. And lucky me…” he smiled again, cold and flat. “This little trip? All expenses paid.”

No bluff. No posturing.

Just a quiet warning with a trigger behind it.

“Heard things were getting noisy out here. Real noisy.” He tilted his head slightly, as if listening for echoes of chaos in the distance. “Bit too loud for certain people to ignore.”

He took a slow step forward, boots scraping against the dirt.

“Tourist?” Bastard let out a low chuckle and gave a smile, the kind that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Something like that, pal.”

He gestured lazily toward Snake.
“…Just checking in on the local slithering wildlife.”

His voice stayed casual, but the undertone was anything but friendly.

Bluesky Spam nuked my other account, lol - any tips on how to get that removed? I don't think it really changes much other than marking my posts as SPAM and putting the reveal filter over them... but, STILL that is quite annoying.
