She talks about how he was her mentor. The mentoring roles need to reverse and Durbin needs to listen to Duckworth. She’s been in her role for almost a decade. He needs to retire.

Wisdom can be shared from the sidelines. Bravery is needed to fight the battle.

Recently learned about “news deserts,” and had an aha moment - some of the worst damage to democracy has been caused by social media on computers in pockets. Less alignment on what’s literally happening because we’re in social bubbles that informed differently.

We live in a country where the media is focused more on who a Democratic mayoral candidate defines as his ‘aunt’ than on the DHS Twitter account putting out white nationalist propaganda and replying to Nazis online.
