07.03.2026 17:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Although compared to Holmes & Watson (2018), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978) is a masterpiece by comparison.

05.03.2026 21:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@applemask.bsky.social summed it up best, the name change takes the piss on so many levels, they changed the name to the other most common name in the UK, rolled the letters of the initials down the alphabet, job done. It's like a passive aggressive two fingered salute to the name WHSmith itself.

02.03.2026 17:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm getting the impression that because the 1996 Doctor Who with Paul McGann didn't lead to a full series, the BBC chose to do this instead. π€

01.03.2026 10:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Toys is the true definition of a cinematic one-off, the once in a lifetime folly every director has in them that they hope to make after one big success. After Levinson struck it big with Good Morning Vietnam and Rain Man, he got his chance. Toys is the sort of project no sane studio would touch.

The worst possible outcome has happened.
Paramount were absolutely determined to get Warner Bros. Even if that meant buying Netflix had they won. Even Universal knew when to give up.

Victor Lewis-Smith told me when he was a young producer on Radio 4 in the 80s, the BBC ordered him to wipe every 3 out of 4 Start The Week and Midweek episodes that he produced. But thankfully for us, he failed to do this and he told me he had the masters, including a wiped Kenneth Williams episode!
23.02.2026 11:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kenneth Williams would have been 100 today. My mate Victor Lewis-Smith did this documentary about Kenneth Williams a few years ago, it features another legend who would have been 100 this year, Stanley Baxter. youtu.be/h9RHYZdMSh0?...

*Grainger Market, sorry I said street twice.
I also know you like your vinyl Kim, there's a shop that deals with gaming vinyl called Vinyl Guru on Westgate Road. π
You can see why I visit it a lot. There's a lovely cafe on Grainger Street called the Flower Cafe where Grainger Street is.
