Legal driving age starts at 16 here😬. We’re desperate to create safe spaces for pedestrians and cyclists. Last thing we want to have those spaces invaded by people ripping down them 50kph on an electric motorcycle or scooter which is happened today (though tech against law)

That’s a bit of a ‘what-about-ism’ argument. No one is suggesting cars be allowed on trails. What’s next, let’s allow Honda civics in bike lanes because they’re smaller than a F150. There needs to be a limit somewhere.

Yes the 32 kph, 20 mph is a bit arbitrary, but in the jurisdiction I live in that’s what the law is I’m willing to accept as a reasonable limit

where I live the multi use trails have a 20kph speed limit

Car laws imposed on bikes are stupid, but reasonable cycling laws for bikes we should respected

If it’s goes over 32 kph it’s not a bike, it’s a motorcycle and please only ride it where motorcycles are allowed. Otherwise, ride on!
