It just strikes me as rather predatory. Maybe not always, but if these programs were good, they’d teach students how to query on their own.

But I often see this where the teacher doesn't even know us, and it makes the writer think they have a leg up, when it would really be better for them to query us directly.
Ok but seriously, folks - what is up with this?? Why am I seeing so many queries sent "on behalf of" the writer, by some service? What are you paying these people? And why??
