Haaretz's EiC, Aluf Benn, eulogizes Ram Loevy and discusses Loevy's efforts to expose "one of the worst war crimes in the history of the Israel Defense Forces, committed by his reserve unit at the end of the Six-Day War", a story heavily censored to this day.

Loevy directed the 1978 TV/film adaption "Khirbet Hiza'a", S. Yizhar's historical novella dealing with the Haganah's 1948 expulsion of Palestinians from the eponymous fictional village. The TV screening touched off a political firestorm in Israel.

I might slightly disagree here. I don't think Golan is against Palestinian sovereignty alongside Israel in principle or that permanent occupation is his goal; I do think Palestinian self-determination is such a secondary issue for him that it "can wait" indefinitely and be placed on the back burner.

And within the government, Golan would have a louder megaphone. But he seems to want to be the centrist Labor of old.

Removing the hate symbol classification is an attempt to normalize white supremacy.

And the decline actually predates Oct. 7. But, yes, sentiment and norms do cement over time and become harder to dislodge, barring some major development.
