The Midtown Greenway is closed for 3 weeks & @minneapolismn.gov set up this very unsafe detour.

It converts a 1 way bikeway on a 2 lane 1 way street to a 2 way for bikes.

The highway exit ramp here is the *most* unsafe spot. Watch how many drivers illegally turn right on red arrow (100%).

Those Young Republicans on the group chat weren’t kids. Tamir Rice was a kid. The Exonerated Five were kids. The girls on Epstein Island were kids.

What I believe is that as individuals, many of us could, and should, drive less than we do; and public policy should work to make that possible for more of us, and encourage us to do it.

(Driving should be safe, legal, and rare.)

I agree! I match all four, and when I talk about my “car-free” life, I routinely acknowledge that I’m lucky to able to get by without one.

There are many people who also match all four! And of course many who don’t.

But also, I haven’t seen any Minnesotans arguing that no one should have a car.
