This seems to be a major form of argument. “Don’t worry about AI hallucinations because humans make a lot of mistakes, too.” And it makes me sad.

This is absolutely correct. As an old guy who is out of fecks to give and too ugly for TedTalks; I am focusing on credibility of professional psychology and education, and using forensic meta-science to audit highly cited research papers. I'm taking the Leroy Jenkins approach to research reform.

I enjoy the argument that AI-based research is okay because human research sucks anyway; so why not have AI research suck equally, but suck faster and with greater output. Given the incentives, I know my side is the loser here; but I persist in working to improve human research.

March is colorectal cancer awareness month.

I lost one of my college roommates to this disease in 2023. She was only 51.

It is recommended that those who are at average risk start getting screened at age 45.

The hardest part of recent challenging times is much less laughter and loss of sense of humor. Working hard to be sure to laugh often and not waste any days.

I just saw a book title called, "Human-centered AI," But I initially read it as "Human Centipede AI." Seems about right.

I've been down lately. I have diagnosed the problem as a whimsy deficit due to (waves arms about) all this. Actions: divest from bad corporations, fewer news podcasts replaced with audiobooks (libro.fm to support my fave local bookstore), renew my palmistry skills, and take up juggling.
