Something I love about #ActiveTravel are the human interactions - the smiles, hellos, and sometimes longer chats and getting to recognise and know locals. That's my kind of socialising ☺️ Better infrastructure makes that easier!

Whoops, I realized I forgot to post yesterday, but: I delivered another 12 bags of groceries from White Center Food Bank to 6 families in White Center and Burien for the @cascade.org #PedalingReliefProject – we use bikes to bring food to mobility challenged neighbors, with a smile and bike joy 🚲 ❤️

Our friend Dennis (Deutsch-Nederlander) crashed his bike (a Canyon) bad on wet cobblestones in Speyer (DE) earlier this winter, so he’s back in Chicago for a while to have his dental work done. We had a lovely bike ride with him up to Evanston to see his niece and sit in a cafe. #chicago #bikechi

Saw at least three families on the school run on cycleway 2 this morning. This scheme, on a road that was previously a deathtrap for anyone cycling, was transformational. Time for protected cycle tracks on all main road

Some 2.8km south-west of the centre of Freiburg im Breisgaum in the south-west corner of Germany, the Vauban neighbourhood is a living example of a low-car suburb. People-focussed design, SuDS and a tram spur make for wonderful, low traffic streets.

Found: a foldable e-bike in the linear park in Rialto. Battery was empty so suspect it was stolen and then dumped. Seems in good working order.

If you know the owner, drop me a message. Will be going to Kilmainham Garda station if no one claims.

The Presumed Liability bill for drivers involved in crashes with people walking or bicycling will not become law in Washington this year.

HB 2095 may be dead but its Prime Sponsor, @staterepjuliareed.bsky.social, is very much alive & is already planning how to pass this law next session.
