the trick is not to give up! I've been learning on and off since I was 13!! but I only saw improvement during the periods i sucked it up and consistently studied! even just a little every day helps

best: anki for vocab, lots of reading practice, text with friends in target language, grammar study, immersion listening
worst: duolingo

focus on 1/2. I really only want to master japanese right now. I may pick up another language in 5 years or so depending on how fluent I get

not at all. at the beginning the most important thing is to practice and start to get comfortable. accent will come with time

probably chinese or any tonal languages. I am scared of learning that fr

favorite will always be Japanese ofc. least favorite probably was french

technically since 13, but most improvement has been this year. (N5->~N3)
