Good idea if you wanna improve, genuinely I think that skill capped tourneys should be played mostly for fun and if you wanna get better just spam open level with the right mindset and you'll likely move up quicker. I'd recommend trying to get a group so you'll have the mostly the same people

there's no reason the pool of top players needs to be THIS small. there are changes the scene as a whole can make to increase the collective skill and knowledge of the scene but we've spent so many years making excuses that we're perpetually stuck with "the west can never compete"

have you considered that part of the reason its so difficult to actually get to top level is due to the way the system to get there has been set up?
obviously top players do their best to improve but part of the reason is our communities lack of focus when it comes to knowing how to improve
