Born this day, 1959: Bassist, multi-instrumentalist, producer & composer Marcus Miller in New York City NY. A member of Miles' 1981-2 comeback band, he later produced three albums for Davis in the late '80s. Miller features on this great FM broadcast from 1982.

Decapitated was awesome, Sylosis as well, but hell, Meshuggah they’re the absolute kings. Their music is insane and their lightshow sick. Really incredible. Do go and see them if you can.

Drummer great Al Foster has died. His credits number several hundred, but it’s his plying with Miles Davis on those killer early to mid 70s albums (studio and live) that stick out for me. Here he is live with MD’s group in 1973. RIP.
