Maybe in another world, I'm able to pursue all of these ideas and am doing much better in streaming.

It just sucks, I guess. I keep holding out hope that with each next step in my life, things will improve and I'll be able to just play how I want, but all that ever seems to change are the unrelated problems I encounter.

I have so many thoughts, so many ideas, for the streams and videos and all these other things I want to do, but I just... can't. My normal living situations don't even allow for it, and sometimes I can't even stream anyway because of some new issue that cuts me off for more than a month again.

I'm not so sure I really believe it's much of a "curse" anymore, especially since 2024 proved that a year can go well. But sometimes, I do wonder still if all of this seemingly random pushback I constantly face is coming from somewhere.

Then, late 2025, new upload speed problems. And 2026 has been rough since moving, especially with how long it took for my computer to even get here, and now it turns out that the graphics card is... y'know. And so, the wait continues.

Then, 2024 happened. It was a full year where everything went well for the channel (EXTREMELY well, even) and nothing stopped me from doing what I love doing. It felt like the "curse" was broken.

Every year without fail, something would happen. In fact, some years, there would be multiple forced multi-month breaks. And especially with it almost always being something different every time there was a problem, it really did start to feel like it was some kind of curse.

I used to strongly believe my channel was cursed. Since the dawn of my YouTube channel, I've had problem after problem after problem. Whether it's internet-related or computer-related, there would always be just... SOME issue that would usually stop me from being able to do anything for months.

Obviously, I'm much better now, and so are my situations relating to streaming. I feel good. I feel happy when I stream. I really do enjoy this. But, there is one part of that old mentality that's especially tough to get rid of.
It's "the curse".

Gonna just spout to this crowd again. My mentality about streaming has changed so much in recent years, especially since 2023-ish. I used to feel like I was putting in so much and getting almost nothing from it... and at that same time, I wasn't really that good at it anyway.

Linishy's got a spare graphics card that he's gonna let me borrow for the time being until I have enough to buy my own again, though it'll still probably be maybe a week or two before I actually have it and get it installed.

Don't worry though, this thread was just about editing for my own YouTube channel. I'm not currently doing video editing work for anyone else. But, thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hopefully I don't become too boring or obnoxious, even if I'm already a little bit there.

Yet, if I want to keep up with things as they are, I have to be in a particular kind of mood to even think up these jokes as they happen without feeling like I'm forcing them. It's just becoming difficult sometimes, and it's one part of why these videos tend to take me weeks to put together.

I'm not above doing things for cheap laughs or shock humor. I do that plenty, even in the Mario Party videos, but I don't want my editing style to become too obnoxious for some people to enjoy.

I love making videos like this, and I'm genuinely so proud of my work, ESPECIALLY with the Mario Party videos, but every time I make another video, I feel like I have to try even harder to both keep the pace entertaining and make good jokes at the right time.

Especially for one-offs like stream highlights, I try to aim for this specific kind of rapid-fire humor with constant editing jokes and visual gags where you don't get bored (hopefully) but that also isn't too "memey" nor so fast that it's hard to keep up with what's going on in the video.

My own current style of video editing concerns me a bit as far as long-term sustainability goes. I think it's pretty obvious by now that unless I'm doing something like an RPG challenge video (which I haven't done in years), I prefer my videos to be funny.
