The characters can look completely different, the setting can be imposing or inviting, it all is down to the reader to make the judgement. You can only use so much space on the page to try and create something for their mind’s eye.

I’m appreciating the draws and shortcomings of being a writer today, having the need to work more on my projects. It really is one of the simplest of the arts to pick up and do, but you have only so much control over what people take away. You don’t have the visuals or audio of others to bounce off.

That’s how I view it, yeah! Studying music theory will help with form, but actually picking up the instrument and learning how to flow and move with the notes on your own is how music is made.

I am curious how much you HAVE to study art to be an “good” artist. Like, I am not a big reader, but I really like the process of writing. I feel like I should read more novels to get the style and flow, but at the same time I like my style of writing and don’t want to copy what others do.

Not sure if this is the best way of doing this, but I want to get back to talking about small creators in some way. I think I’ll keep an updated starter pack and just make posts about them on here. Shorter reads, more condensed thoughts, but still want to show my support!

Another random thought, I have the masculine urge to have a full-day spa and makeover session. Head-to-toe, just go all out on cleansing, trimming, exfoliating, styling, etc. until I’m “perfect” and refreshed.

I don’t know why I still got to Twitter sometimes. Like yeah, there’s a lot more established content on there and people are generally more active, but really I am actually getting depressed from the vitriol some people relish in over there. It’s not that they’re mean, they’re full-on poisonous

Nothing gives me anxiety quite like my dog’s wellbeing, I have to say. Even the simple things like cutting hair and nails so she can function is beyond a struggle, where I’m now considering full sedation just so she let’s me do what she needs to be comfortable and happy, and I feel like a failure.

I’ve heard of several instances of dental issues popping up recently, two of them were rotted teeth that caused other diseases and infections. While I too have struggled being consistent with it, please brush and do regular “mouth cleaning” in general, it’s sooooo important.

I think it’s the fact that I don’t want to support one bad action, nor even appearing like I do by continuing to associate. At the same time I don’t want to just cut such a big part of my life out over it and feel like I’m abandoning them when they simply need to be guided back to the right path.

I find that I have a hard time continuing to enjoy someone, either as a fan or a friend, when they are the subject of drama. Sometimes it’s for the best, like if they’re genuinely a bad person, but other times I have conflicting guilt over whether to stay or cut them out of my life.

Some personal rules I’ve come to admire people keep:
1. Don’t insult and villainize the other sides, but show how their bad actions and attitude negates the good.
2. Prove you want to make things better for everyone.
3. Don’t ignore your own health and happiness, even when pursuing rule 2.

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to be rich, like RICH kind of rich, but honestly I can’t imagine being as power hungry and obnoxious as many wealthy people are. Comfortable? For sure! Secure? Definitely. But, the ego that seems to follow money wherever it accumulates is wild to me.

Grade A DMing

I’m in a phase of getting up and moving, standing more at my desk at work, and other simple but active tasks to get myself trimmed for summer. I think I’m out of the seasonal funk I guess I must have been in all winter, and it’s doing wonders. Now I just need to get myself to actually work out 🫤

The worst part of modern bad takes on social media is there’s no good way of denouncing them. If you reply or make a response post you’re feeding their engagement analytics, and if you ignore it then their opinion is the only one being shared and attracts more wild misinformation and bad actors.

Hey, you can use that to your advantage, it just works.

As a Kingdom Hearts fan, I have to say there’s something about the fandom that makes you either super critical of every non-issue, or super defensive of even the most glaring flaws, there’s no in-between for us. Then anyone who doesn’t like the games points to us crazies and go “yeah, makes sense”🤣

I think being non-confrontational has definitely benefited me a lot, but then bottling it up made me feel worthless and like I don’t have anything important to add. I don’t want to do that anymore, which is why I’m now posting and writing. I need to get the thoughts out of my head and into the world

I just dreamt having a hard conversation with my parents and, though they were difficult during the process, I did not back down or just say “forget it”. In reality, whether it’s my parents or certain friends, I just don’t bother having those conversations because I don’t trust they can handle it

They say opinions are like asses, everyone has them and they all stink. That should not mean that you keep opinions to yourself! Like an ass, you have to work on it, sculpt it, maybe learn from others how to properly show it off. The more it sits around stagnant, the more it stinks.

I don’t want to fall back on the same old “generational trauma” but I do think that as humanity has developed we are more cautious about what we say, and maybe how much we trust what others say. The problem is, that defense mechanism detracts from genuinely connecting when we should be.

I do a daily Question of the Day in some socials, and today I wanted to focus on if people can give genuine compliments. I do think we as a society have a problem with compliments, giving and receiving, to the point where we dance around and vaguely engage with them. I am just as guilty as anyone.

Since I am getting in the habit of posting random thoughts, here’s a somewhat hot take: Kingdom Hearts’ story is no more or less confusing than most made by Square Enix. A bit out there for a kid’s game, but then we have Final Fantasy with various mind/dimension/time warping, KH fits in imo.

Out of everyone on earth, from the models, the super rich, even just the people who generally have a cushier life than me, the group I’m most jealous of are the people who can be unapologetically cringe about their interests and hobbies. I strive to be that way one day.

The second is a farming sim that I was optimistic for, it had a lot going on from the short time I played. I could see myself getting caught up to it like many other games of the genre. Then I learned about shady stuff going on behind the scenes with the devs, and now can only see it as a sad waste

There’s two games I was upset by the past few months, and that’s Old School RuneScape and Sun Haven. The first is an MMO I have recently got back into, and ultimately was really feeling the cozy grind it uniquely gave. Now the potential subscription changes have me worried it’s going down a bad path

I have heard the stages are “I’m not a furry”, “I’m not a furry, but…”, “this furry thing I found is kinda neat”, “as a joke I got this furry OC”, “WHY IS MY WOLF COSTUME TAKING SO LONG TO SHIP?!”

Still in the “I’m not a furry, but…” category, I’m scared 😆
