my ex-gf’s mom is having a lumpectomy tomorrow and her dad recently died and she is, because of health reasons, very dependent upon her family for care and living and thriving and stuff. And she hates me (not really she is just still mad at me) but I don’t hate her so I hope her mom will be okay.

The culprits

I used the regular flexible fabric ones with no problem (well, a tiny little problem, just some redness in the area when I removed the bandage, but no burning or itching or actual damage). These “special” ones with a “unique adhesive” literally caused my skin to start coming off.

I just like getting mail. And I’m supposed to get mail as part of my assignment. But nope. Three weeks of nothing.

But as usual I out a lot of thought and creativity into this 15 minute assignment and probably got matched with the person who is doing all their workshop writing the night before, making me think I need a more challenging workshop.

Three weeks later and I still have nothing. I’m so bummed. I don’t know who had my card and I feel like a baby whining about not getting it.

I love writing and mailing cards & letters! When I moved to WA back in 2019 I did weekly letters to my kids (who were already old). So I’m excited about this assignment and did mine the next day. Drove to the post office and dropped it in the box.

In my form and theory class we were given postcards with stamps and had to address them to ourselves. Then our professor took them up and passed them around. We were to write a brief poem to our friend (we are all friends) and drop it in the mail. Most people know I’m a mail guy!

I do love a catch all food. i’m a meatball / meatloaf guy, and whatever is around that will stretch the meat is fair game. I just have a hard time eating beige food.

my issue with all the boudin I’ve tried in Lake Charles (not a lot, for reasons) is that I like a structured sausage and so much of it is absolutely unappealing to look at. I’ve heard I need to try Kartchner’s but have t had time to stop by on my way back to Alabama.

Yes! It’s super painful. I’ve got some barrier cream to try and protect it but now I’m afraid to put any adhesive on so I can’t cover it.

I usually have the capacity for extra steps, but we shouldn’t have to take extra steps because the feature should work.

I had an option to add alt text to a video of my cat last night, so I did. And it did not appear, so I added a reply with the same text. Frustrating.

I almost made a petty post about “don’t follow me if…” after getting a ton of new “blue maga” and blue waver USA followers whose entire accounts are reposting beige politics dunks and telling people they won’t answer DMs when they’ve got their DMs open. And decided NAH. Blocking is so easy.

I just reported my chemical burn from the “unique adhesive for real staying power” on the Band-Aid Tru-Stay Sheer bandages on the FDA site (lol) and to Johnson & Johnson (slightly less lol). It hurts, y’all.

It’s one of the few truly accessible spaces I’ve ever visited — physically, spiritually, emotionally— and Michelle & Jean gave me the BEST recommendation for a tarot deck over the summer. Still — when I think about the subject of the trial, it’s MIND-BLOWING.

The embarrassment of being a person who loves tutoring in a writing center but hates *the way we have to approach* teaching freshman composition.

I love The Serpent’s Key! I go every summer when I’m in that area for work. Seeing the story continue like it has is wild.

While watching “The Clearing,” I wondered where in Australia people would be wearing coats and sweaters for months at a time (I know enough about Australia and New Zealand to sound smart to an American and dumb to an Australian or New Zealander). It’s here.

I was tear-gassed in my own driveway by OPD in 2020 so it’s good to see they’re also capable of making good decisions.
