Is it only me that thinks the Trump-Putin peace plan, if accepted by Ukraine, directly imperils the remaining sovereign Ukraine, Moldova, and the Baltic states in the next ten years?

The amount of aluminum in select vaccines is

up to 72 TIMES LESS aluminum than you ingest daily from foods
and
up to 400 TIMES LESS aluminum than is in your body at any time.

Oh and it’s ALL filtered and excreted by your kidneys in the SAME EXACT WAY.

I'm by no means perfect when it comes to character but nothing bothers me more than someone who lies to me. Especially if the lie assumes I must be stupid or uninformed. It's why I have spoken up about politics and it's why I disqualify many political candidates from the get-go. Truth still matters.

The supreme irony here may be that the Canadian populist politician Poilievre gained support by blaming Trudeau for high food prices while at the same time having his campaign run by a top Loblaws consultant. I am filling out a form right now to get $50 from a Loblaws bread price-fixing settlement.

It may be unclear from these charts that show % growth but if a grocer bumps prices up 10% for valid (temporary) pandemic reasons and then those reasons disappear and they then "only" bump prices up another 3%, then they are keeping the 10% and 3%.

Convince me I'm wrong: Food price levels in Canada and the US are primarily the result of pandemic disruptions and the food supply chain greedily avoiding cuts in inflated prices once the pandemic subsided. Anti-government populist politicians prefer to blame the government.

That's a valid question. And from what I have read the number actually leaving is significantly lower than the number expressing their desire to leave. That said, I think the important takeaway from the poll is the unprecedented and significant number now expressing that desire.

An extraordinary 40% of women aged 15-44 say they'd like to leave the U.S. permanently, double the 19% reported for men (Gallup). This represents a dramatic rise, only 10% of women wanted to leave in 2014. Their preferred destination is Canada.

There are some jurisdictions in Canada that fail to fully support or promote vaccinations, vaccinations proven to reduce hospitalizations. Those same jurisdictions are trying to limit healthcare spending and have shortages of doctors and overcrowded hospitals during flu season. Make this make sense.

What’s the point of getting a flu shot this year? Here’s what the science says | CBC News Some scientists say this year's flu shot isn't well matched to a key strain that could spread widely in the months ahead. So, is there still a point in getting it? Medical experts say: absolutely. Her...

Excellent article by @laurenpelley.bsky.social explaining why the flu shot remains important (and if you haven't gotten the shot yet, now is the time - infections are rising). #vaccineswork

Canada has lost its measles elimination status.
A sad day, a win for anti-vaccine ignorance and politicized public health, a new age where children, families, and communities will face additional health risks for no good reason other than the comfort of joining others with similar fact-less beliefs.

BBC director general Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness resign - live updates Davie says

Correct for execs to resign from the BBC after distorting what Trump said. But imagine if all those who lied to the public with "fake news" were forced to resign when caught out. "Double standard" doesn't begin to capture what is happening these days.

As far as Ontario Canada, it is very early days. The lab testing rate for flu is low (1.8%) but rising now, indicating increased activity. The positivity is much higher in children 5-11 (7.8%). No evidence yet that H3N2 is taking over dominance of Influenza A strains.

One area of concern that I have and it is often not communicated in the media, is the lower vaccination rates being seen in children. It's not just the children and transmission to classmates and parents that I am concerned about, it is their more frail grandparents who could end up in hospital.

RACGP - Australia posts record-breaking flu numbers as vaccination rates stall GPs are sounding the alarm on Australia’s influenza vaccination rates, following a record flu season in which more than 410,000 lab-confirmed cases were reported.

More from Australia. Even if the flu shot is less effective this year (and we do not know yet), it remains a much better alternative than going into the season with zero protection, especially if you have increased health risks.

We may see a more serious flu season this year, for several reasons, including record numbers already seen in Australia this year, the potential for the H3N2 strain to be less well-matched to vaccines, and the rise of vaccine hesitancy due to misinformation.

It is true that exporters in other countries also end up subsidizing a smaller share of the tariff costs. But even the latest studies show American consumers are bearing the brunt of the increased cost. The costs are being increasingly passed on to individual Americans.‡️

Tariff = tax.
Like all taxes, the revenue goes to the government and comes out of the pockets of consumers and businesses. Too many Americans do not understand this, even though they are the ones paying the tax.
