A few are working full-time, earning more than corrections officers. One is making well into the six figures. Here's why Maine's approach to education and work in prison is making waves in the world of corrections.

It's not normal to have 15-17 hours a day to really focus on something and learn something, like deeply. And fortunately tech is one of the few areas where they're not concerned with your college degree. They're really only concerned with your ability to write code."

Building a Life After Prison, One Strength at a Time In Nebraska prisons, RISE equips inmates to rewrite their story, using strengths as the foundation for lasting change.

RISE’s strength is not only in its mission, but it’s in its language. Asking “How did your strengths show up?” invites incarcerated individuals to envision a life beyond prison. It's not about not fixing the broken, it's about amplifying the capable.
