We had a wet start this morning across The Wiregrass, and rain chances will remain elevated this Labor Day Weekend. Here's what you can expect.

Rain chances will gradually increase in The Wiregrass over the next couple of days. Warmer, muggier conditions will also make a comeback.

While the tropics are quiet behind Tropical Storm Fernand, the Atlantic might wake up soon.

Scattered-to-widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, with rain chances areawide around 60%.

Some localized flooding and a few strong storms capable of producing frequent lightning, small hail, and wind gusts up to 50 mph are also possible.

For now, this is just an area we’ll watch. For the Lesser Antilles, the system COULD track close to there, but how strong it is, what specific impacts it would bring, etc. are highly uncertain.

We’ll know more by midweek. For now, refer to trusted sources for information (i.e. NHC and mets).

An area of low pressure could develop in the Atlantic this week. Development chances are currently at 20% over the next week.

Where it develops and how fast (if) it develops will determine where it ultimately tracks.

There is still plenty of uncertainty with this system’s future.

Hurricane Erin rapidly intensified into the first major hurricane of the 2025 season.

Winds are 120 mph & it’s expected to become a Category 4 Hurricane.

Heavy rain & gusty winds are possible for parts of the NE Caribbean.

It will stay offshore of the US, but high surf/rip currents are forecast.
