It's a lot of fun with an interesting take on some farm mechanics as crops/animals improve the more you farm/breed showing you domesticating them.

And going from 'my only tool is a sharp rock' to having dedicated tools and irrigation channels really helps with the feeling of progression.

That is a wide spec for a beginner but if you focus on the mechanics of the game first and start expanding the customisation after then you'll have a finished game you can add to rather than an unfinished infinitely bloated game you eventually lose interest in finishing.
