Oofโฆ.I assumed it was a trilogy. I am reading these because my friendโs 13 year old daughter wanted to share them with me, I didnโt fully realize what I signed up for haha.

Large nerd, husband, dad. Current hyperfixations: Books,โฆand thatโs it. I only allow myself to enjoy one thing at time and it becomes my personality.

01.10.2025 14:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Yeah, definitely not my usually read but I feel like the authors writing improved into this book and Iโm curious to see how the third one goes.
30.09.2025 23:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It most definitely does that. Seems like they went hard on that at first so that they can lean into the โwatch her change himโ plot.

2025 Reading List:
55. Apprentice to the Villain: Hannah Nicole Maehrer
I am still not the target audience for this series but I was able to get more into this book than the first. The story was more exciting for me and character development was well done.

2025 Reading List:
54. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd: Agatha Christie
My first Christie book and I highly enjoyed it. I correctly guessed the killer pretty early on but I assume thatโs due to tropes being copied from this author over the years. Regardless, I appreciate the journey.

2025 Reading List:
53. Reincarnation Blues: Michael Poore
This is right up there with The Hearts Invisible Furies and Dungeon Crawler Carl as one of my favorite books. Look up trigger warnings and some parts may be problematic, but after 9,994 lives everything has happened.

2025 Reading List:
52. The Silent Patient: Alex Michaelides
Wanted to try out my first thriller. Still not sure I got the genre right but really enjoyed this book. Had no idea where it was going, fed you clues at a good pace, and really kept me engaged.

2025 Reading List:
51. Drowned Country: Emily Tesh
I definitely enjoyed the first book more but still found myself entertained by this follow up. I would recommend this dualogy for anyone into folklore and monster legends.

2025 Reading List:
50. Path to Villainy: S.L. Rowland
A fun story. Felt like the end went a little too quickly for me but it was enjoyable to see the โheroโ in the story rise with the goal of becoming a villain.
Itโs nice to see Author Steve Rowland find success off the stage.

2025 Reading List:
49. The Buffalo Hunter Hunter: Stephen Graham Jones
Slight slow start but once the confession began I was hooked. I also really enjoyed the unique take on vampirism. Not wholly satisfied with the end but would highly recommend.

2025 Reading List:
48. Ring Shout: P. Djeli Clark
What a ride. I had no idea this book was supernatural at all and it was a trip. I like historical fiction and a story of a group of women hunting racists sounds pretty cool as is but then it got delightfully weird and meaningful.

2025 Reading List:
47. Dawnshard: Brandon Sanderson
Figured my break from my Cosmere journey had been long enough and it was nice to be back. Lopen and Rysn were already characters I really enjoyed so I loved the focus on them. Easily one of my favorite stories in this world.

2025 Reading List:
46. Yes Please: Amy Poehler
I love Amy so when I decide I wanted to try an autobiography this was an obvious choice. Really enjoyed it and did not mind at all how it jumped around. Also love that she read the audiobook herself. Would recommend to anyone.

2025 Reading List:
45. Silver in the Wood: Emily Tesh
Picked up blind at the library and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoy supernatural mythology and vibed with the main character. The amount of gay romance I accidentally end up reading has led to some questions from my wife.

2025 Reading List:
44. Killers of the Flower Moon: David Grann
I realize with books I tend to seek out a healthy dose of white guilt. This story I knew nothing about and I am glad I am no longer ignorant of it. Itโs disheartening to see how little has changed in peopleโs hearts.

2025 Reading List:
43. Paladinโs Grace: T. Kingfisher
Continuing my T. Kingfisher run and returning to the same world as Swordheart. Love the characters and Iโm excited to follow this series. She has perfected the art of fantasy yearning, โjust kiss alreadyโ happens a lot.

2025 Reading List:
42. A Wizardโs Guide to Defensive Baking: T. Kingfisher
I am on a T. Kingfisher kick and had heard about this several times even though it was a YA. This was a lot of fun, touch of cozy fantasy with actual stakes and the magic system is a lot of fun.

2025 Reading List:
41. A Short Stay in Hell: Steven L. Peck
Found something short to try and finish while out of town a few days, I finished it on day one. I loved this brief glimpse into a hell where time seems infinite and what the smallest speck of hope can do to you.

2025 Reading List:
40. The Haar: David Sodergren
Not even a little bit was this book what I expected it to be. I want 84 year old Scottish women to be the protagonists of every book I read. She was badass. The story was haunting, sad, gruesome, but weirdly sweet and funny.

2025 Reading List:
39. Castle of Wizardry: David Eddings
4 books down, 1 to go. I have an enjoyed this series but can admit a lot of that comes from the narration of the audio books. The voices are very well done. I do like the characters but the plot involves a lot of travel.

2025 Reading List:
38. Wild and Wrangled: Lyla Sage
I shall miss you sexy, boundary respecting cowboys, and hope to see you again. The delusion of โIโd probably be that cool and have mastered lovemaking too if I worked at a ranchโ was a fun fantasy to have.

2025 Reading List:
35. Swordheart: T. Kingfisher
This is my second book with this author but first in this genre. Really loved the main characters especially Zale, with some of my favorite moments just being the conversations they are a part of.

2025 Reading List:
34. Somewhere Beyond the Sea: TJ Klune
I had to immediately follow with the next one. This was a great sequel. In the beginning I was worried it was going to be too different but it quickly returned to what i loved from the first book, with some higher stakes. #booksky #books
2025 Reading List:
33. The House in the Cerulean Sea: TJ Klune
I enjoy a lot of genres but nothing beats cozy fantasy for me and this one is top tier. Love the characters and Iโm actually sad I donโt know them. Please god let Chauncey grow up to be a bell hop, itโs all I want. #booksky #books
2025 Reading List:
32. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore
Funny and has a lot of heart. Enjoyed the spin on all of the well known stories. The ending made me both sad and happy, any ending that can pull that off is a good one in my book. #booksky #books
