Radiologic science programs were one of the first new programs offered at MCP/AHS after the charter change, with the associate’s degree in nuclear medicine technology announced in Fall 1982.

In 1979, the name of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy was changed to the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences (MCP/AHS) and the charter was changed to provide greater educational flexibility.

This year it runs from November 2-8 and the theme is “The Kaleidoscope of Radiologic Technology.” National Radiologic Technology Week always takes place during the week of November 8 to commemorate the discovery of the x-ray by Wilhelm Röntgen on November 8, 1895.

It’s National Radiologic Technology Week! National Radiologic Technology Week is an annual celebration to recognize the vital work of medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals in patient care and healthcare safety.

However, this photo of students working in the laboratory was taken almost a decade after the dedication--it was taken in 1949, after the renovation.

To celebrate, we're taking a trip back to the Godding Dispensing Laboratory! The laboratory was dedicated to the memory of John Granville Godding (Ph.G 1874, PharmD (Hon) 1924) on June 4, 1940. Godding served as Treasurer of the College from 1890-1929.
