Exactly. The three number retirement ceremonies have been *right* after the players made the HOF and went in as Mariners.

I don’t even know what to say about Ichiro. Aside from maybe my father he’s the #1 reason I got so interested in baseball in the first place. Saying this induction is very well deserved is a massive understatement.

Felix did a lot better than I expected year 1. I feared he’d go the way of Johan Santana and fall off after one year. With next years class not having anyone worthy of induction I expect Felix to gather some more steam next year.

They did unofficially. The number doesn’t get officially retired until you have a mariners cap on your HOF plaque per team criteria. 19 for Buhner and 34 for King Felix haven’t been given out since their departures.
