22.07.2025 14:30 β π 11381 π 2545 π¬ 120 π 91@ezraboeth.com They make their money on hardware and walled garden experience. Apple Music is a first party product with a captive userbase, why would they need to provide a quality *public* api?
13.11.2025 19:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It really is maddening. multi-scrobbler has this *mostly* solved because Youtube Music does the same thing (but due to it being scraped from browser). I ended up using the polling interval plus some list diffing logic to determine "scrobbled at" timestamp. github.com/FoxxMD/multi...
13.11.2025 19:34 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Kudos to @mmatt.net and the @teal.fm team for eating the cost for a developer account and (eventually) implementing a (free?) api middleman to retrieve users history.
The other issue is that apple music history doesn't apply to radio, podcasts, and doesn't include timestamps...π¬
For multi-scrobbler specifically, no. Turns out it's *really hard* to use the Apple Music API as a one-off/in a self-hosted environment. It's been attempted [several times](github.com/FoxxMD/multi...) but the hurdles are high.

this scrobbling client provides support for Jellyfin, Plex, Deezer, Spotify, WebScrobbler, VLC, YouTube Music, Last.fm, ListenBrainz, AND MORE!
