Stepping in to say that third parties will often buy branded emulation devices then bundle them with microSD cards with ROMs. For example, most Anbernic handhelds at Amazon and AliExpress will come with a card, whereas devices from the manufacturer won't for obvious reasons.

The Analogue Pocket and its portable peers are all creeping up in price, and I'm scared that tariffs and RAMageddon are double-teaming the retro handheld scene A perfect storm that's harming retro portables

Alright, here's my rant about the new Game Boy "Jukebox" and the fact that Nintendo will seemingly do anything but make a Classic Edition remake of the OG handheld.

Perhaps I'm being a bit mean, but a handheld that turns into a laptop maybe isn't what we need while we can't even get Steam Decks.

A glimpse of Sega Japan sometime in 1991 during the development of Golden Axe too, snapped from a Megaforce magazine feature. Not only do we get a lovely photo of Sega HQ in Tokyo, but some very cool shots of how game art was created and then digitised onto the screen.

Idk, I would have liked to spend more time diving into Pokemon Stadium beyond the hardware etc etc, but I do most have to stay in my apparent lane.

For Pokemon's big 30th bday, I recapped some of the basics of using an N64 today. In this instance it's to play Pokemon Stadium, but it's basically just a quick rundown of what to look at to get playing Sushi Go Round on repeat.

I didn't catch the direct thing yesterday, then saw people excitedly posting about it and my brain immediately placed it in the mental fodder bin.

I might have some big words to say on Monday, though, as it's starting to feel more like an insult.

I've ranted about this a lot, but Nintendo had a clear pathway to making a Game Boy remake. It naturally now doesn't want you to own any of its classic libraries, hence the online stuff, but it feels like a middle finger when they then release stuff like this.

Look, Game Boy nonsense is my jam, but this just feels like the wrong kind of novelty nonsense. It's cute, sure, but is it really different from a lot of the retro stocking fillers you get in super markets?

I've sort of come full circle, partly because big sites used to have a weird aversion to retro as a subject. That has clearly changed, and I'm now admittedly using the limited autonomy I have to get the good stuff to the right people.

I can't express how much I appreciate all the kind words about my retro nonsense. I've promised myself I'll keep doing it in any form I can.

Still trying to digest what's now happening to Gamer Network. There is no end, and deeply upset for everyone impacted.
