21.10.2025 09:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am going to be working on an more indepth report based on the information and looking at the disclosures about what developers are saying they used Generative AI for.
20.10.2025 23:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The main caveat to the data here is that this is only games that have disclosed they used Generative AI. Plenty of games may be using them without disclosing for things like localizing, code, concept art, or other things you may not see.
20.10.2025 23:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I did some digging and I've written a report about the number of games in Steam Next Fest that made use of Generative AI - more than 500 or over 17%.

I tried over 60 demos in the past few weeks and seen a lot of great and promising games - and even here covering over 20 of them I could add another 5 without much thought and situational recommendations for more.
18.10.2025 19:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Doing it on my own blog meant I wasn't restricted to 10, so I was able to include more as honorable mentions essentially at the end with a brief description (often just a cleaned up version of my note on it).
18.10.2025 19:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Due to personal stuff, my Steam Next Fest article is on my own blog this month rather than on TechRaptor - so here's a look at some of the best games I got to try out.

Hey sorry, I've already made my picks and am working on the article now.
Good luck with the Next Fest, and if I have time I might give your game a shot.
Hey Mifa,
I'm not reviewing or covering games that make use of generative AI, as my editorial focus is on human artistry and craftsmanship.
Best of luck with your demo !
I did - It just missed my write up sadly. I can't remember why It missed it though.
05.10.2025 18:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cool! I've downloaded it and it's on my list to try!
29.09.2025 16:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you're curious and want to find some interesting games (or just see what the articles look like)
June Next Fest: techraptor.net/gaming/featu...
February techraptor.net/gaming/featu...
October techraptor.net/gaming/opini...
Reaching out before hand gives me time to give your demo a shot without quite as much competition all over the place like there is during the event proper. Each Next Fest gets more and more games to sort through.

Steam Next Fest "A Celebration of Upcoming Games" Oct 13 - Oct 20 at 10 AM Pacific
If you have a demo for Steam Next Fest in October - and especially if its up early or available early - reach out and let me know!
I do a list for each rounding up 10 games from each Fest showing people some of the best and most interesting games from ones that top the charts to obscurities.
It was really interesting to talk with the creators of AAA Simulator and their view of the industry - and how it's all on fire.

I'll probably start talking games on here more again... but in the meantime this is your reminder about the genocide taking place in Gaza and how Israel is still denying that there is famine in Gaza, caused entirely by their actions.

The Video Game History Foundation has purchased the rights to an influential and historic video game magazine, and it's making said magazine free for everyone to access and use.
06.08.2025 14:05 β π 8 π 4 π¬ 0 π 1The fact that ai art and writing programs are built on stolen work really seems to be fading from the discussion even amongst artists and writers, which is a bit shit.

Other people use em-dashes and they are sometimes converted from normal dashes by word processors.
Remember LLMs only essentially regurgitate what they've devoured, so the prevalence of emdashes there tells you a lot of people were using them even if you didn't see it.
Right now I think Dimir Midrange and the twin combo of Izzet Cauldron and Izzet Prowess are the 'tier 1' - with the latter 2 being somewhat similar to each other.
Personally, my weapon of choice right now is Naya Yuna as it can do some really cool things and interacts well with decks.
It's just about to be the Standard Regional Qualifier season, so if you want to see how some of the top decks are adapting with rotation, and bans from last month I covered it here.
If you have other questions on Standard or Magic: The Gathering hit me up here as well!
I shared my thoughts on Edge of Eternities limited through the prism of 10 cards.

1) They might be getting it from a wholesaler and selling it closer to that, eating into their profit margin
2) They might even be paying full retail and doing it as a loss leader to attract audiences.
The Lego Movie is far better than it really had any right to be.

13.07.2025 11:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Discworld is great. Some serious literature is great.
There's a place for both and people who try to shame 'low' literature are fricken stupid.
And that's without getting into the individual genius that makes up so much of Discworld, especially imo past the first couple of books
