and its fire crews made up of incarnated individuals. There are places of worship, recovery centers, state parks and the wildlife within, schools, museums, restaurants (including my favorite), local grocery stores, and libraries. (4/5)

it's elderly couples who have had the same home insurance company for 75 years only to have been dropped by their carrier last month, its unhoused individuals, its people which disabilities that make travel/evacuation challenging or impossible, its public servants, (3/5)

but its people who remain from when it was a sleepy beach town, its families and migrants who live in trailers, its college students and individuals looking to start their lives, its local business owners that have been there for decades, (2/5)

I've lived through fires in southern California and been part of a team that helps an entire university shelter in place. This fire in LA is categorially different. The damage is on a unseen level.

My fellow GenX, lo on this very night, I was in need of a random cable of ages past, and behold, it was there - safely tucked away in the closet in "tub of random cords." In stark contrast to the naysayers, the tub has proven its worth!

This is all the enthusiasm I could muster for my morning swim.

Fall, in Texas, means the weather is still nice enough to start painting a deck in the morning.

Also, you never know if you will get to enjoy the deck all winter or it will sit under ice.
