part of this is a debate about Dillingham's potential. You're a believer. But I think it's unfair to Finch to suggest they aren't playing him with no reason. I think if they saw medium term potential, they would use him rather than cobble it together between DDV, Bones, a washed Conley.

Conley played 13 minutes last night. My guess is his time dwindles even more. He's obviously earned a little rope given his career, but it's also clear that Finch doesn't really want to play him much either.

It's clear the staff has concluded that Dillingham is just not good enough to play. Given the circumstances, I'm sure they wish he could--not only do they have a need at the position, but also, who wants to piss off their boss? But if he can't, he can't.

This struck me at the time as Connelly's one big draft mistake. He's been good, but I never understood that move. Maybe I'll be proven wrong.

Yeah. His type is difficult. "Undersized guard whose main skill is scoring" is tough. If you aren't Allen Iverson, it usually doesn't work. The best exemplars of this type--Isaiah Thomas, Gilbert Arenas--aren't really known for winning, You have to be really great to make that work, and he isn't.

Lends some evidence to my belief that Dillingham just isn't good enough to play, and the Wolves' staff knows it. Conley backing up DiVincenzo makes some sense, though it leaves the 2nd unit questionable offensively.
