Your child, the sophisticated language learner Sentences contain subtle hints in their grammar that tell young children about the meaning of new words, according to new MIT research.

We tend to assume that toddlers rely on "mutual exclusivity" (each word corresponding to a unique thing) for language acquisition. However, researchers at MIT found that children as young as 2 can use sentence structure to figure out the meanings of words. #EduSky @mitpress.bsky.social
