So Mubi picked it up for other territories and Criterion has it for the US, but like is this going to be available in the UK at all?

It's the most wonderful time of the year - Le Guess Who festival is just days away!

In February, @subpop.bsky.social came to me with an idea that I found hard to resist: @clppng.bsky.social wanted to play the Tiny Desk, like, ON the actual desk... with MIDI-controlled robots striking coffee mugs and shaking paper clips.

It's finally here.

Hoping this eventually lands on some other platforms - this sounds like something I'd really enjoy

A really solid week of movies with the last couple of films I caught at London Film Festival - Sholay in particular was great fun. Fantastic restoration that really deserved that IMAX screening #LastFourWatched

I fear I've spent too much time teasing the arrival of Lane Price to my partner that when we actually get to Season 3 she'll be completely indifferent to him

I remember looking into trying to pull data from last fm and letterboxd when I last tried to work on my personal site. Maybe I should try that again.

It’s a shame they discontinued this promise for new customer years back. I’ve just sent mine off to get repaired and whilst still cheaper than new shoes (and no need to break in again) it still cost about as much as some shoes do from other brands

Whilst the Springsteen biopic was a bit of a disappointment, London Film Festival has been treating me very well.

RIP to inspirational movie poster legend, Drew Struzan. Everything he put his pen to ended up being some canonical representation of a movie we now love. Often, the posters are more famous than the movies themselves. Poster auteurism!

We love these unused Struzan designs for Back to the Future.

My colleague Rab made this horrid date picker where you have to select date numbers using darts

Started strong at London Film Festival with Resurrection, Bi Gan’s latest film. He continues to just make absolutely stunning films. Some of the most beautiful images I’ve seen and an incredible single take near the end of the film as well #LFF

This was the first real test of our design tokens in product and it was pretty damn successful. Meant that we were able to change a lot more of the product to meet the rebrand than we'd initially expected, which was super exciting.

One Rebrand After Another (is this anything?)

Rewatched it all fairly recently and (mid season dips aside) it’s still really fantastic.

I think the other issue is a large group of people tuned in for just the ending so we’re never going to get it (or just didn’t watch it and only know what they’ve been incorrectly told second hand)

in addition to being a humiliating flop, this moment is yet another baffling example of tech companies trying to market an AI tool that doesn't fulfill any meaningful purpose. this guy just needs a RECIPE BOOK. or, like, a tiktok.

T-minus 2 days until we share with you the rebrand we've been working on for almost 12 months. Been a heck of along journey but we're ALMOST THERE

I thought the whole argument for voting for Labour (I didn't) was keeping the Tories out. Certainly doesn't seem like thats happened.

With Shinobi getting great reviews and Silksong out soon I think I'm just going to play 2D action games for the rest of the year - oh and I still need to play Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound

quite something that sally rooney vows to support palestine action with her money and suddenly she shouldn't have a career, while jk rowling vows to continue persecuting trans people with her immense wealth and gets a brand new hundreds of millions television adaptation of her naff wizard books

I am one of the 14 authors who chose to leave the Polari Prize, and I find myself frustrated and saddened at the way this entire story has been represented. 1/

Does anyone have any good calendar app recommendations? Feel like I'm done with Daybridge as the most recent update seems to have made it pretty unreliable: events don't always show up, I can't seem to add an event to my google account anymore, and I can't even access the web version anymore

It is 2029. At a ceremony attended by a dozen "political lesbians" and cis white gay men of a certain age and income bracket, Paul Burston hands the uncontested Polari Prize to John Boyne for his novel "Six", detailing the theft of Henry VIII's six golden coins by the Italian explorer Mario.
